Mooring House Guest Lodge has had the priviledge of hosting 2 United States of America teams from Dallas, (Texas) on different occassions who
have flown over to assist with the Thembalitsha Project at Themba Care in Grabouw. Each team consisted of 7 members and Mooring House
(Guest House) in Somerset West was able to easily accommodate the group and made sure breakfast for the team was ready at 7:30am so that
they could get an early start to their duties at Thembacare in Grabouw.

THEMBACARE SOUTH AFRICA
Thembalitsha Foundation
is a non-profit organisation, which focuses on social development.  Our projects help to develop people to the point of
self-reliance by helping to establish pre-schools, adult training programs, health care services and education programs.

We also assist in the rehabilitation of children at risk through bridging education programs.  We help build responsible individuals who are
equipped and willing to contribute to the life of their communities and to the economic and social well being of South Africa.  Themba Volunteers.
YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of local and international volunteers over the last 10 years, Thembalitsha Foundation, has been able to give the
disadvantaged and needy some of the best healthcare, training and education available to those in third world living conditions.

The hundreds of stories of how volunteers have helped us are amazing: They vary from young British children raising funds for our AID’s clinic; to
elderly South African ladies making food for our AID’s patients. Not to mention the many groups of students building new homes for the less
privileged, helping paint and establish new classrooms for our students, and finally unique individuals making massive personal sacrifices to raise
funds and awareness for us.

We invite you to join us in this quest to show love and compassion on a practical level to those deeply affected by poverty and disease in our
country.

We welcome volunteers both locally and internationally, and if you are thinking of committing to our organisation, please consider the following
options.
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERING:

If you are an international volunteer there is a whole support network which we have set up in terms of accommodation, transport and fundraising
opportunities before you leave your home country. The average cost of volunteering can be budgeted at approximately US$900-00 to US$1,200-
00 per month. For more information please email to

What theTexas (Dallas) team had to say:   "Our team of 7 ladies spent 2 weeks at Mooring House. The rooms
were so spacious and daily cleaned excellently. We had plenty of hot water for all of us to shower at once.
The view and grounds are beautiful and located very conveniently to sites, mall, etc.   Garry and Miriam
prepared wonderful breakfasts for us and coordinated with our schedule just as we needed. The hosts also
gave us excellent recommendations for shopping, laundry, eating out and they personally aided us when two
of our group became ill. Their service to us went beyond the "call of duty". They provided help and answers
for our every need. I hesitate making this review only because I hope Mooring House won't become so
popular that I won't be able to get a reservation in the future. I would not stay anywhere else when visiting the
Cape Town area. We all hope to return."
